Greetings from our Principal
Welcome to our MIS community!
We are excited that you have taken the time to explore our school.I have been working in education for about 25 years and recognise that at Mandalika Intercultural School, we have something very special. Our students get to experience a truly global education, within a small, but very supportive community setting amongst the backdrop of gorgeous beaches, rugged landscapes and a unique and vibrant Sasak culture.
We ensure our students are developing skills to be effective changemakers in the 21st century. This includes a strong academic foundation based on essential capabilities of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, communication, and lots of fun. We have a supportive wellbeing program based on the Growth Mindset and Restorative practices, to develop positive social emotional thinking, effective conflict resolution and respectful relationships.
Our middle years and secondary programs incorporate service learning, which evaluates a community need and is driven by the students’ passions, to make a change for a better future.
Most importantly, our students are happy and feel that they belong.
Our innovative programs would not be possible without our incredible team of teachers, where many have significant international teaching experience and impressive qualifications. As well as being kind and compassionate, our teachers show outstanding creativity and commitment to teaching and learning. In a small school, our teachers are often juggling many roles, which they do professionally and enthusiastically.
I am blessed to work in a school where the students know they are valued, where they are happy and joyful and encouraged to express themselves and be supported to be the best they can be. Our founders lured me to our school by promising that this is a learning village ‘where kids love to learn and teachers love to teach.’ That promise remains true.
We look forward to our school community growing as our beautiful new green campus opens and the South Lombok region continues to develop.
Please do contact us if you would like more information or want to join our wonderful community.
Warm Regards,
Ibu Julie,
MIS School Principal
